Elk Grove Village celebrates its character

The Community Character Coalition of Elk Grove is holding its fourth annual Celebration of Character from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Elk Grove Pavilion, 1000 Wellington Ave., Elk Grove Village.

The celebration features live entertainment, free grilled food and beverages and a split-the-pot raffle. This year the Character Coalition will present Tim Hannig’s ProKids Show. Check Tim out at http://pkshow.com/.

Attendees will be asked by members of the Elk Grove Police Department to pledge to uphold the Six Pillars of Characters Counts: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Following the ProKids show will be recognitions honoring community members whose actions have demonstrated one of the Six Pillars of Character Counts. Many area dignitaries will be on hand, including Mayor Craig Johnson.

Attendees are asked to park in the Pirate Cove parking lot and enter through the door near the pool.
