You’re unique, just like everyone else

If you are reading this letter, you are most likely one of the well-informed of David McCullough Jr.’s now viral Wellesley High School commencement speech, “You Are Not Special.”

I liked his appropriate ending, “The sweetest joys of life, then, come only with the recognition that you’re not special, because everyone is.” Had I been consulted, I would have had him add, “But you are unique ... (short pause) ... just like everybody else.”
