State Rep. Kay Hatcher has announced her library visit schedule promoting her popular Foxy Readers Summer Reading Club. The Maple Park Public Library visit will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6 at 302 Willow. The club honors first- through fifth-grade area students who pledge to continue reading during their summer vacation.

Rep. Hatcher sponsors her Foxy Readers Summer Reading Club in cooperation with area libraries. "Education takes many forms," Hatcher noted, "and staying connected with our libraries during summer helps retain youngsters' learning skills. It reinforces what they learn in school."

Rep. Hatcher is accompanied by the Foxy program mascot.

"I encourage parents to bring their cameras," Hatcher said. "Anything we can do to encourage our children to read is important, and having a photo of their goal can help that process."

Participating libraries include the Aurora Public Library, Batavia Library, Charles Phillips Public Library (Newark), Kaneville Public Library, Maple Park Public Library, Messenger Public Library (North Aurora), Oswego Public Library, Plano Public Library, Sugar Grove Public Library, Town and Country Library (Elburn) and Yorkville Public Library.

Graduates and their families will be honored at a special reception at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, and 1:30 p.m. at the Elburn Town and Country Library.
