“Make the Right Move”: Jim Egerton from Chess-Now will conduct a six-week course for beginners and players who wish to improve their game. The classes, which are open to students and adults in the Fox Valley, will be from 6:30 to 7:30, Thursdays, Jan. 20 to March 3 (except for Feb. 10), at the library p.m. Class size is limited; register early at the library. For details on Chess-Now, visit www.chess-now.com.Princess Pippi Concert: Princess Pippi travels from the Land of Azulia to entertain all of her friends with singing and dancing at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21 at the library. Program activities will include: Prince and Princess songs and dancing, and stories from the faraway land of Azulia. Princess Pippi will also bring her new friend Flit, the flying fairy. Children are encouraged to dress up as a prince or princess. No registration is required.Simply Magic for Preschoolers: Simply Magic focuses on basic things, like prime and secondary colors, numbers, shapes, sizes and sequences, i.e., magical surprises that, well, just shouldn#146;t happen. Effects include Hippity Hop Rabbits, Rope Medley, Cups and Balls, Linking Rings, ABC Blocks, and more. Ron Clayton returns to the library at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 with a magic program especially for preschool kids. Visit Clayton#146;s website at magicandmalarky.wordpress.com.
