DeWyze fan plans Singapore party

I bet even Lee DeWyze doesn't figure he has fans 9,000 miles away.

My sister, Maureen, who lives in Singapore with her husband and two kids, is throwing an "American Idol" party for the season finale. Her party will be at 8 a.m. while we Chicago fans will watch it at 8 p.m.

Maureen and a group of her American friends, who are 12 hours ahead of New York time, are hoping to catch the feed live.

"Last year Singapore had a live feed of the finale from the eastern standard time showing," Maureen told me in an e-mail. "I don't actually know for sure that they will play it again like last year, but we're hoping!"

Even though we're from Arlington Heights, Maureen considers Mount Prospect her hometown - at least when Lee takes the stage.
