St. Charles East's P-ARTS to host its variety show
St. Charles East High School People for the Arts (P-ARTS) will host the seventh annual variety show at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7 at the Dellora A. Norris Cultural Arts Center, 1050 Dunham Road in St. Charles.
Auditioned acts will perform a wide range of family-friendly entertaining talents. Comcast will be presenting their $1,000 donation to the school that night.
Student-made clay whistles and greeting cards will be available for sale in the Norris Center lobby, before the show and during intermission. Support the arts at St. Charles East by becoming a member. P-ARTS membership is $1 for students, and starts at $3 for adults. Forms, T-shirts and hoodies available for purchase on show night.
All proceeds will benefit P-ARTS fine arts scholarships, camp scholarships and teacher grants.
P-ARTS is a Fine Arts Advocacy group for the visual and performing arts and humanities at St. Charles East. The group works to promote and support programs and activities among the students and faculty. Membership and donation dollars fund scholarships to summer arts camps for underclassmen and scholarships for college-bound seniors. In addition, P-ARTS underwrites equipment such as digital cameras for photo classes, stage rigging for the production of "Peter Pan" in 2007, magazine subscriptions for speech and art classes, supports Visiting Artists/Artist in Residence programs, the 2007 Band China trip and more.
Tickets will be presold in the St. Charles East Commons through Friday, March 6 and cost $5 for students and $7 for adults. St. Charles East students will get one drawing entry with each ticket purchased, to win prom and post prom tickets and other great prizes.
Tickets also will be sold at the door on show night. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
