Local author to sign copies of first book
Deborah K. Finley of Island Lake will sign her first book, "What Your Future Holds And What You Can Do To Change It," from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Let's Meet for Coffee, 109 E. Highland Ave., Elgin. Her book will be on sale that day for $13.99.
This book targets readers who are seeking to change their hearts, minds, health and future. From a childhood that threatened to destroy her to an adolescence in which she witnessed her father's murder, Finley survived. After a life changing encounter, she learned "to live in a higher realm of life."
Born and raised in Chicago, Finley is a freelance writer and author and an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional. She speaks at women's shelters, libraries and churches.
Visitors who buy the book Thursday will receive a 10 percent discount.
On Senior Thursday, seniors can get their choice of muffin, bagel, Danish, cinnamon roll and a small coffee for $2.15. For details, call Lachell Jeffries-Hanson at (847) 289-1122.
