Man accused of damaging construction vehicles

EDWARDSVILLE -- A Granite City man is jailed on $100,000 bond on charges that accuse him of damaging four heavy construction vehicles in Edwardsville last summer.

Madison County prosecutors have charged 21-year-old Robert Hayes with causing at least $100,000 in criminal property damage.

Police say someone operated and caused significant damage to four Caterpillar heavy construction vehicles belonging to Keller Construction of Edwardsville over a two-day period last August.

Edwardsville's police chief says the damage was estimated at more than $300,000.
