McElroy Administration Center.

Guilty plea in tax fraud:

Martin J. Sandoval, 41, of Rolling Meadows, has pleaded guilty to filing a false 2003 corporate tax return for his business, Sandoval Construction, the Internal Revenue Service said Friday. According to the court documents, Sandoval also underreported the gross receipts of Sandoval Construction for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 and used the funds for personal purposes. The amount not reported was $63,696 in 2001, $103,950 in 2002, $185,737 in 2003 and $131,329 in 2004, according to the IRS. The 2003 return reported income from sales as $1,540,091, instead of $1,725,828, the IRS said. Sandoval's personal return reported income of $104,876, instead of $290,613, the IRS said. Sandoval, who pleaded guilty Tuesday, will be sentenced May 20 and faces a maximum penalty of three years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine.
