Soccer team coming to Lisle

The Chicago Red Eleven, a developmental league affiliate of the Chicago Red Stars of the Women's Professional Soccer league, has announced it will play its 2009 home games at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex at 5700 College Road. The team features college-age players from throughout the Chicago area. It played as the Chicago Gaels during its 2008 season.

Naperville art competition

Naperville's Sister Cities Commission is sponsoring a Young Artists Competition for youngsters ages 13-18 to design artwork based on the theme "Your Path to Peace." Entries are due by 4 p.m. March 13 at the mayor's office in the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. Participants must be residents of Naperville or attend school in Naperville Unit District 203 or Indian Prairie Unit District 204. Learning about Lincoln

On the eve of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, professional storyteller Brian "Fox" Ellis will come to Villa Park Library, 305 S. Franklin comes to Lombard

Actor Terry Lynch will portray Benjamin Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in Lombard's historic Maple Street Chapel at the corner of Main and Maple streets. Lynch as Franklin will reminisce about his past, interact with the audience, and explain how his political life, writings and scientific inventions changed our lives.
