Next Friday will bring a great opportunity for lots of people to pick up a piece of movie history for a good cause.

Our Redeemer's United Methodist Church in Schaumburg will host Movie Memorabilia Night at 7 p.m. Feb. 13.

Daily Herald Film Critic Dann Gire has donated T-shirts, posters and other memorabilia from more than 100 movies which he's acquired over 20 years.

The items come from such films as "There's Something About Mary," "Dr. Doolittle," "Mrs. Doubtfire" and "The Patriot," among others.

While there are ethical restrictions against him personally selling these promotional items, he's free to give them away.

And so he has.

The sale will fund missionary work in the Philippines. The church is located at 1600 W. Schaumburg Road. For more information, call (847) 882-6116 or visit orumc.org.
