Drug paraphernalia stashed in Schaumburg

If you're an occasional visitor to the Schaumburg police station and wonder where all the old drug paraphernalia that used to be displayed near the entrance went, it hasn't been thrown out.

The display cases were removed as part of the recent renovation that also included an upgrade of the community room where the department holds its press conferences.

Police Chief Brian Howerton said the decision was made that the seized drug paraphernalia, formerly displayed for educational purposes, didn't fit in with the look of the renovation and it was returned to storage.
