Rush signs two lineman to extensions
The Chicago Rush has signed defensive lineman Joe Peters and offensive lineman Robert Boss to two-year contract extensions through the 2010 season, the team announced today.
"I am excited to know that we have Joe and Robert back for a few more years," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "They are two players who play the game the right way and keep football fun."
Peters (6-foot-4, 270 pounds, Concordia) is in his third season as a member of the team's defensive line. He has recorded 14 tackles, a career-high three sacks and five passes broken up while playing in 11 games this season. He also has recorded two safeties, tying an AFL record for safeties in a season.
In his second season in Chicago, Boss (6-5, 296, Northern Michigan) has developed into one of the finer tight ends in the Arena Football League. In addition to his strong blocking, Boss has shown he can catch the ball as well as any tight end in the league, catching 12 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns this season.
