David Staral Jr., 35, of Kenosha, Wis., is accused of concealing income from creditors and the bankruptcy trustee as well as lying about the state of his personal finances when he purchased the team. -
Chicago Slaughter cancels season at Sears Centre
Jan 21, 2014 5:47 PM - The Chicago Slaughter indoor football team has canceled its scheduled 2014 season at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, potentially leaving the door open for a completely new franchise to operate there in 2015. And with the simultaneous resting of the Chicago Rush at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, this winter is likely to be the first season since 2001 without any arena football in the Chicago-area market, Sears Centre General Manager Ben Gibbs said. -
With Rush gone, AFL sets realignment for 2014 seasonOct 29, 2013 4:11 PM - With the Chicago Rush franchise sitting out the season after failing to find a bankable owner, Arena Football League executives met in Elk Grove Village this week to announce the league's realignment and share best marketing practices as it prepares for its 27th season in 2014. With 14 teams in the mix, AFL officials announced division alignment for the 2014 season on Tuesday. The AFL will feature four divisions within two conferences based on geographic relationships, according to a statement released by the AFL.

Rush's McMillen not distracted by HOF nomination
Jul 4, 2013 10:07 AM - Chicago Rush head coach Bob McMillen is one of the finalists for the 2013 Arena Football Hall of Fame class. The Naperville resident won three AFL championships in 13 seasons in the AFL as a fullback/linebacker. In 2006, he helped the Rush win their first championship and was named the ArenaBowl Ironman of the Game. McMillen is honored by the possibility of becoming a hall of famer, but he's focused on getting his team to the playoffs and beating the Philadelphia Soul this weekend. -

Rush owner's money issues force league to take over team

"It's a sad situation because it's such a good product," Allstate Arena General Manager Pat Nagle said.
