He was honored for several good arrests, courtroom testimony and the excellent image he portrays for the department. Angelacos has been with the department since 1998 in the records division. She is a backup supervisor who helped organized the department's open house and its acclaimed National Night Out events. Her peers recognized her for her superior customer service.
Guiney stays on parks ballot
Longtime Hoffman Estates Park District Commissioner Loretta "Lollie" Guiney will remain on the April 7 ballot for re-election after surviving an objection to her candidacy paperwork. The challenge was filed by attorney Donald Laxton, who questioned the completeness of Guiney's nominating petitions. Laxton stated Guiney used the term "commissioner" instead of "Hoffman Estates Park District Commissioner" and her papers didn't clearly state the position she sought but his objections were overruled. There are four park board spots up for election and five candidates. Incumbents Craig Bernacki, Scott Triphahn, Kaz Mohan and Guiney are running, as well as former commissioner Wendell Howell.
