Overturned vehicle blocking some southbound lanes of Route 53 at Biesterfield

An overturned vehicle is blocking some lanes of southbound Route 53 at Biesterfield Road near Elk Grove Village and Schaumburg.

According to traffic-monitoring website sigalert.com, the crash was reported just before 7:45 a.m.

The crash is backing up traffic past the Interstate 90 junction and delays in the area are up to 20 minutes.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash and injuries were reported, but they were not considered to be life threatening, according to Illinois State Police.
