McHenry County College classes

McHenry County College is offering these classes.

Welding Boot Camp: McHenry County College's Corporate and Continuing Education Department is offering introductory Welding Boot Camp classes beginning this January. Additional classes begin throughout the spring.

The introductory Welding Boot Camp program is a 40-hour course designed to provide students with a basic understanding of and hands-on experience in the welding profession. Training will include instruction in basic welding technology and terminology, blueprint reading, basic math used in the welding trade, basic welding skills and plant safety. Challenging exercises hone the student's skill level.

Graduates of the welding boot camp are eligible for resume assistance, interview training and job search assistance.

Class ID: NWL C01 001 - Introductory level, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Monday/Wednesday, Jan. 5-Feb. 11.

Class ID: NWL C01 002 - Introductory level, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday/Thursday, Jan. 6-Feb. 12.

Class ID: NWL C01 003 - Introductory level, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24-March 14.

Class ID: NWL C01 004 - Introductory level, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Monday/Wednesday, Feb. 23-April 8.

Class ID: NWL C01 005 - Introductory level, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday/Thursday, Feb. 24-April 9.

Class ID: NWL C01 006 - Introductory level, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4-May 30.

The fee for all classes is $1,000. All classes will be held at the Woodstock Center, 912 Trakk Lane in Woodstock. Class size is limited and early registration is recommended.

Home-schooled students: McHenry County College will host enrichment classes for home-schoolers in grades 4-12 on consecutive Fridays, Jan. 9-Feb. 27.

Students can choose two-hour classes that begin at 10 a.m. and/or 1 p.m. Classes are being offered in art, writing, science and ethics and conceptual physics.

Classes are $99 per eight-week session and $50 for a four-week session.

A digital photography class is offered from 9:30 a.m. to noon for $120.
