2 arrested in fatal Bolingbrook stabbing
Bolingbrook police have arrested two people in connection to a Saturday morning stabbing that left an unidentified Romeoville man dead, officials said in a news release Sunday.
Marco Rodriguez and his girlfriend, Yajaira Ruiz-Ramirez were located and arrested at a Des Plaines hotel late Saturday, officials said.
Rodriguez was charged by the Will County States Attorney's office with first-degree murder. Ruiz-Ramirez faces charges of obstructing justice and concealing and aiding a fugitive.
Early Saturday, police received reports of shots fired on the 100 block of Campbell Drive. When they arrived, they found the 30-year-old victim dead with what police said looked like a knife wound in his neck.
In the news release, police say the couple and the victim attended the same party where the incident took place.
Rodriguez also had several outstanding unrelated warrants for his arrest. Rodriguez and Ruiz-Ramirez are being held at the Will County Adult Detention Facility in Joliet. Both will appear in Will County court Monday, Dec. 28.
