State Rep. Walker meets Des Plaines Kiwanis

State Rep. Mark Walker spoke Dec. 8 to members of the Des Plaines Kiwanis Club about his effort to create jobs and revitalize the state economy.

"Every day, I talk to people who are struggling with lost wages, reduced hours and unemployment," the Democrat from the 66th district said. "For those people, there won't be any economic recovery until companies start hiring again. I want the state to be an active partner with small businesses to create those new jobs."

Walker, of Arlington Heights, is running unopposed in the Feb. 2 primary. He will face David Harris, the Republican candidate also running unopposed in February, in the November 2010 general election.
