Two women face fraud charges for identify theft

Two women are facing fraud-related charges after police said they stole an elderly Lincolnshire couple's personal information to get a student loan and make other financial transactions.

Geraldine C. Lopez, 49, and Kristen S. Glasper, 29, both of 1925 Hastings Court, Schaumburg, were arrested on a warrant Sept. 28.

Lopez was charged with fraud and financial exploitation of the elderly. Glasper was charged with computer fraud and deceptive practice.

Lopez had been working as a caretaker for the victims when she stole credit card numbers and identification, Lincolnshire police said. She and her daughter used the information to create new accounts, get a student loan and commit other crimes, police said.

Both women were released on their own recognizance. They're scheduled to appear in court Oct. 10.
