Danimal does middays on WSCR

WSCR 670-AM filled its schedule in the post-Mike North era by signing Dan Hampton Thursday and naming him co-host of the morning-midday show along with Laurence Holmes.

Hampton, the former Bear star and Hall of Famer, will hold down the shift with Holmes from 10 to noon starting Sept. 2.

It will give the Score a strong Bear presence to open the NFL season, but it also means Hampton will have to get up to speed on other sports in the midst of the baseball pennant race.

Holmes has been filling the shift since Mike Mulligan and Brian Hanley moved to morning drive to replace North.
