Suspect sought in Cary armed robbery
Cary Police are seeking information regarding an armed robbery that took place at a 7-Eleven convenience store at about 2:13 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a news release from the Cary Police Department, a male Hispanic walked into the store at 111 N. First Street displaying a knife and either took money from the register or asked the clerk to give him the money.
The offender took an unknown amount of currency from the store and fled southbound on First Street, officials said.
The suspect is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 150 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Police said the man speaks with a heavy accent.
The incident marked the second armed robbery in the village in less than a week. On Thursday, a man walked into the Cary Walgreens at 500 Northwest Highway, showed a gun and demanded money. A Walgreens in Crystal Lake was also robbed Jan. 28.
Cary police did not return repeated phone messages Tuesday afternoon.
