Most south Kane pools will be open by the weekend
It's that time again, when you have to dig through layers of sweatshirts and jeans to the bottom of your dresser to fish out a swim suit. Summer's finally arrived, sort of, though you couldn't tell from the weather.
Following is a list of when pools in the Tri-Cities area will open:
Aurora
Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center, 828 Montgomery Road, will open Saturday. Sunday through Friday the park is opens noon to 7 p.m. Season pass holders get a special deal on Friday, when they can get in at 11 a.m., an hour earlier than non pass holders. Hours are the same for everyone on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Splash Country Water Park, 195 S. Barnes Road, also opens Saturday. Hours are the same as those at Phillips Park. The park will host "Splash Bash" from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 13. The event will have huge inflatables, dancing, water games and a live DJ, all of which is included in the general admission fee. Batavia
South Hall Quarry Beach, 400 S. Water St., opens Monday. The beach is open every day from 11:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The fees are the same every day, $7 for Batavia residents and $10 for nonresidents. This year, the park will allow beachgoers to bring their own food and drinks. Call (630) 406-5275 or go to bataviaparks.org.
Geneva
Sunset Pool, 710 Western Ave., opened May 23. It's open every day from 12:30 to 8 p.m., except for the Fourth of July, when the pool closes at 6 p.m. This year is the first the park district will allow non-Geneva residents to swim in its pool, and for those new rates and further details call (630) 232-0747 or go to the park district's Web site at genevaparks.org.
St. Charles
Swanson Pool at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave., is open. Weekday hours are 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., then the pool closes for an hour and reopens at 6:30 p.m., and closes at 8:30 p.m. The pool is open on weekends from 2 to 8 p.m. The pool opens an hour earlier on weekdays and three hours earlier on weekends for St. Charles residents.

Yorkville
Raging Waves is a privately owned water park at 4000 N. Bridge St. that opened Thursday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through June 26. From June 27 to Aug. 10, the pool will stay open an hour longer, then it switches back to a 6 p.m. closing time until the park closes Sept. 7.
