Congress needs to cut its own pay

When businesses are in financial trouble, they either lay off workers or ask them to take pay cuts; when businesses thrive, employees get raises. When the American economy was thriving, Congress had no trouble voting arises for themselves. If members of Congress really wants us to believe that they "get it" - that they understand how bleak the economic news is for many Americans - they need to vote themselves a 20 percent pay cut and help their business, the government, survive.
