Politicians seeking hidden tax hikes

My guess, not many. While our Chicago and downstate-Illinois political charlatans have been distracting everyone in the press and the public-at-large with free rides for Illinois senior citizens as part of their transit bailout, these same political thugs have managed to finagle a hidden tax increase into the present real estate transfer tax from $7.50 per $1,000. to a whopping" $10 per $1,000 -- meaning when one gets around to selling one's prize possession, their $400,000 home, more than likely as a senior citizen, they will get hit with a bill of at least $4,000.

That's over and above all the other real estate and sales taxes, hidden and otherwise, that are coming down the pike from Illinois Legislators, who only appear concerned with arguing endlessly among themselves except when plying themselves with undeserved hefty raises.

This is the same bunch that expresses concern for the senior citizens of our community while ripping the pockets out of the pants.

It's fairly clear that their main concern is staying in office, and that one fact represents the only recourse taxpayers have available to put an end to the waste and corruption that exists in our state and local governments.

When will Illinois citizens wise up and rise up to throw these bums out?
