River Trail's Bucket Band, Steel Drum Band perform
The music department at River Trails Middle School has been busy lately, including a Bucket Band/Steel Band concert Monday.
The bucket band featured lots of backlights, glow sticks and light shows -- and a lot of loud drumming. The steel band portion featured Caribbean and pop music played on the unique sounding drums.
Next month look for an original musical titled, "Brats in Space," written by music teacher Steve Flowers and directed by Mark Detzner and Flowers. The cast includes 25 students singing and dancing as well as some hilarious moments, according to Flowers. The show will be at 7 p.m. April 10 in the school gym.
