Schaumburg Flyers to reopen sports lounge
Schaumburg Flyers fans and area residents won't have to wait until summer to visit Alexian Field in 2009.
The Flyers will host the grand reopening of the Schaumburg Club Sports Lounge at their stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road, during the evening of Feb. 18.
The event will kick off at 5 p.m. and local band 7th Heaven will perform at 7:30 p.m. It falls during the same week as the Flyers' winter caravan visits around the area.
Among the guests will be the Flyers' new manager, Mike Busch, and members of their new dance team, the Schaumburg Flyers/SYN Vodka Flight Attendants.
Attendees can listen to the band and watch the night's Bulls game on any of the six new flat-screen TVs while sitting on the brand new lounge furniture.
While the event is free, space is limited and reservations are necessary. RSVP to tickets@flyersbaseball.com or call (847) 891-2255, ext. 136.
For anyone interested in joining the new dance team, tryouts will be held a few days earlier, at 11 a.m. Feb. 15 in the lounge. The entry fee costs $15 in advance or $20 at the door. To reserve a space for tryouts, call the number above or e-mail energy@flyersbaseball.com.
The dance team will be captained by former Miami Dolphins cheerleader Ashley McLees and will perform at all 48 Flyers home games in 2009.
