Christ Community Church hosts comedy club this weekend
Christ Community Church will host comedians Michael Jr. and Dana Daniels for the annual comedy club this weekend at all three campuses.
The shows are at 7:30 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 17 at the Blackberry Creek campus, 40W098 Galena Blvd. in Aurora, at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the church at Bolcum and Randall roads in St. Charles, and at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19 at the DeKalb campus, 1600 E. Lincoln Highway. Tickets are $10.
The 2000-seat auditorium in St. Charles is expected to sell out for Saturday's show.
"We're not surprised tickets are selling well," Brian Beatty, communications director for Christ Community Church said in a prepared statement. "People are bombarded with stress, busyness, and hectic schedules. It's no wonder they want to come out for a night of clean comedy. Michael Jr. and Dana Daniels are some of the funniest guys on the circuit." Michael Jr. has appeared on "The Tonight Show," Comedy Central, "The Late, Late Show," BET, "Jimmy Kimmel Live," SiTV, and "The Byron Allen Show." Dana Daniels has been called one of America's top comedian magicians working today. He was awarded the 2007 stage magician of the year from the Magic Castle in Hollywood.
Comedy Club has been a mainstay at Christ Community Church for 12 years. Church leaders see it as a gift to the community that provides clean comedy that isn't offensive.

How do married couples pray? Married couples are invited to participate in a new study that explores how, when, where, and why married people pray. Some of the questions include:
• Besides praying in church and at meals, when do you pray?
• Do you have a special place/space in which you tend to pray?
• Do you ever pray together, or more usually alone?
• Do you have a similar or different way of praying than your spouse?
• Do the ups and downs of marriage and family life become part of your prayer life?
• Has prayer changed for you over the course of marriage and family life?
These and other questions will be explored in an online, confidential study conducted by Paul Giblin, associate professor of pastoral counseling at Loyola University Chicago.
Those who are interested in participating can contact Giblin at (800) 424-1238 or pgibli@luc.edu.
