Wheaton Academy earns forfeit win
Wheaton Academy was looking forward to today's Private School League game against Luther North at West Chicago High School as a tuneup for next week's game against Walther Lutheran.
Turns out the Warriors are now 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the PSL, but not the way they wanted.
On Friday, Luther North contacted Wheaton Academy to forfeit the game. According to Wheaton Academy athletic director Paul Ferguson, disciplinary suspensions hit nine Luther North players. Since there were only 18 players on the team - and no junior varsity team to pull from - there was no possibility of a game.
The Warriors visit Walther Lutheran at Serpico Field in Melrose Park next Friday, Sept. 26.
