Crime Stoppers seeks suspect:
Lake County Crime Stoppers is looking for a Round Lake Beach man facing charges of sexually abusing a teen. Izaac Mendoza, 26, was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in August 2008 for the incident with a girl between 13 and 16 years old, Lake County Crime Stoppers Director Andy Anderson said. Mendoza was released on bond and expected to appear for a preliminary hearing Aug. 14, 2008, but he never appeared. A warrant was issued for his arrest the same day, Anderson said. Mendoza is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call Lake County Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222. People who give information leading to the arrest of a person wanted by Crime Stoppers are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.

Candidate loses manager:
The campaign manager for Republican congressional candidate Joe Walsh quit earlier this month, both men confirmed Tuesday. Keith Liscio, who had been Walsh's point man in his bid for the 8th District seat now held by Democrat Melissa Bean, declined to say why he left the job. Walsh cited personal reasons and some "philosophical disagreements." Liscio has been replaced by Sheila Morgan and Jim Thacker, Walsh said. Walsh is one of six Republicans seeking the GOP nomination in the Feb. 2, 2010, primary. The others are: Dirk Beveridge, John Dawson, Chris Geissler, Greg Jacobs and Maria Rodriguez. Bean is seeking re-election and will be the only Democrat on the ballot. Green Party candidate Bill Scheurer is running, too.
