No one is forced to have an abortion
This is in response to Mr. James Finnegan's take on Roe vs. Wade being overturned. Its amazing how some ideas can become so twisted. Like Mr. Finnegan's story on the woman who supposedly had an abortion because she was worried about her appearance in a bikini for that coming summer. Sir, I know several women who have had abortions and none related to a contorted sense of self-appearance. I would love to know where that story was made up, I mean came from. I assume it's all the hours spent volunteering at your local women's health facility. If I am wrong, then maybe Mr. Finnegan should volunteer and get some actual stories on why women have abortions. The reasoning will turn out to be a lot more consequential then that of a summer fashion.
Its amazing how anyone can compare the overturning of slavery, prohibition, and suffrage (the actual term for a women's right to vote) to that of abortion. The key element that seems to be missing in your logic is that these were reversed to guarantee a group of people personal freedoms. Overturning Roe vs. Wade would restrict a woman's personal freedom, her right of choice. Something, sir, I am sure you care ever so much about.
The thing that amazes me every time, is that for all of those people who fight to have Roe vs. Wade overturned or protest outside of Planned Parenthood, no one is forcing you to have an abortion. If you are against abortion then don't have one.
As my favorite bumper sticker goes, " You're Pro-Life? That's fine; now get one and stay out of mine."
