Lang holds off upstart Ingersoll
Unofficial results saw incumbent Colleen Lang retain her job as St. Charles assessor Tuesday night by a margin of 576 votes with all 34 precincts reporting.
Chuck Ingersoll was the only candidate on the entire St. Charles Township ballot not running on the St. Charles Township Independent Party ticket. His name stood out for that reason alone. But after surviving a challenge to his petitions to keep him off the ballot, Ingersoll fell short of winning the job.
Lang has been the assessor for the past nine years in St. Charles Township, which has more than 20.000 properties.
