LaCure takes over as Geneva Twp. assessor

Denise LaCure will be the new Geneva Township assessor, narrowly defeating Gary Fritz Tuesday by 17 votes out of 2,751 cast, according to unofficial results.

LaCure, a deputy assessor in St. Charles Township and a Geneva Township trustee, promised to offer appointments after regular office hours.

Fritz, who withstood a challenge to his nominating petitions by departing assessor Aubrey Pratte, was critical of how assessments are done in the township, and questioned the number of appeals the township faced at the Kane County Board of Review. He also promised to have evening office hours.
