Summer safety theme of kids fitness fair

Summer is the season when many people slip into a relaxed way of life - the weather is warmer, days are longer and there are many outdoor activities to enjoy. But outdoor summer fun also can pose some risks. More children are accidentally injured during the summer months than any other time of year.

Help the kids in your life be safer this summer and join Rush-Copley for Play it Safe, a kids health, safety and fitness fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at the Rush-Copley Healthplex, 1900 Ogden Ave., Aurora.

Kids will be able to learn and interact with a wide variety of fun and educational exhibits both indoor and outside including:

• How and when to call 9-1-1

• Touch a truck - fire and ambulance exhibit

• Sports and bike safety

• Fitness demonstrations

• Water and sun safety

• Fire safety

• How to use an automated external defibrillator

• Child safety seat checks by certified child passenger safety technicians
