Why a gas price drop at Christmas?

Why have gasoline prices fallen suddenly at Christmas time? Maybe it was an attempt to save the automobile, retail and travel industries. Now that Christmas vacations and shopping are over, gasoline is getting more expensive again, and we're going back to the global recession. I always believed that the oil and automobile industries were in collusion, because either one could put the other out of business. Because of the oil industry/OPEC's greed, people will soon stop buying petroleum-burning cars altogether, since the new Obama administration is looking for other nonpolluting energy sources. If this is the future, oil will definitely be hurting. The retail industry also has ripped off the American public by manufacturing in China, or by buying China's cheaper wares and selling these goods at high prices regardless. Now, at Christmas, retail has experienced their comeuppance. They put America out of work, with no more money to purchase retail, and stores are closing at a fantastic rate, deservedly. It may be the end of Christmas, as America gets out of the gift-exchanging habit. Many Americans no longer drive on winter vacations. This is what happens when you mess with an economy in equilibrium and greedy businesses dream of a global economy.
