Women deny stealing Lincolnshire couple's identity

A mother and daughter from Schaumburg pleaded not guilty Thursday in Lake County circuit court to charges they stole personal information from a Lincolnshire couple.

Police said Geraldine Lopez, 49, and Kristen Glasper, 29, both of 1925 Hastings Court, used the information to obtain credit cards and loans.

Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said Lopez worked as a caretaker for the couple and stole credit card numbers and identification information.

She and her daughter then used the information to open new credit card accounts and obtain loans, Stanton said. They are believed to have gained more than $10,000 through the activity.

They were arrested Sept. 28 after the victims were informed of unusual activity in their credit accounts and called police.

Both are charged with aggravated identity theft and face up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.

Associate Judge Christopher Stride scheduled a trial for March 31. He ordered both women to appear in court Feb. 26.
