Woman's Club offers scholarships
The Arlington Heights Junior Woman's Club is accepting applications until April 14 for a $1,000 college scholarship.
The scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors who are legal residents of Arlington Heights. For information and an application, visit www.ahjwc.org.
The Arlington Heights Junior Woman's Club conducts clothing, food and toy drives and holds fundraisers to benefit local not-for-profit organizations. Members take part in a variety of social activities, including wine tastings, road rallies and progressive dinners.

Learn Zumba at Jam Dance night
Register by Wednesday to attend the Prospect High School London Campaign Zumba Jam Dance Knight from 7 to 9 p.m. March 31 at the school, 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect. Proceeds will help defray costs for marching band, orchestra and chamber choir students participating in the 2008-09 New Year's Parade and Gala Concerts in London.
Zumba is a group fitness class inspired by Latin dance. The event will include an easy, one-hour class led by Zumba instructor and Prospect music parent Cherry Nellessen, as well as a social gathering and healthy snacks.

Summer classes coming to Dist. 214
In an effort to keep students on track, Township High School District 214 now will offer evening classes this summer.
Sundown Academy is open to juniors and seniors who, due to scheduling conflicts, cannot attend summer school during the day.
Eligible students may attend one of nine courses from 6 to 8:30 p.m. four nights per week for six weeks, June 16-July 24, at Forest View Educational Center's Vanguard School, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights. For information, visit www.dist214.k12.il.us.
Kids to pitch business plans
Select students enrolled in Rolling Meadows High School's entrepreneurship classes will present their mini-business plans at DePaul University April 2.
The plans will be judged by DePaul faculty, graduate students and guest entrepreneurs at the DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson, Room 8005. DePaul's Coleman Entrepreneurship Center provides educational events and consulting services for entrepreneurs and business owners.
The 10 student-run businesses to be presented include: Euro-Style Car Wash, an on-campus car wash service; the District 214 Dodgeball Association, which organizes and hosts dodgeball tournaments within the district's six schools and Dots on the Spot, which sells Dippin' Dots ice cream to students after school.
Other businesses include advertising, athletic training, T-shirts, bubble gum for fundraising and a lunch service.
