Democrats sin from conviction
I hate to say this, but Cal Thomas is wrong. While he conceded the fact that the Democrat Sen. Edward Kennedy behaved badly, Thomas warned against judging him, because, after all, we are all sinners.
Well, there are sinners and there are sinners. There are Mother Teresa's and there are Madonna Ciccone's. There are also Republicans and Democrats.
The difference between Republican sinners and Democrat sinners is that Republicans sin out of weakness. Democrats sin out of conviction.
Republicans succumb to temptations of the 'world, flesh and the devil.' For Democrats temptations do not exist, because they do not recognize the basis of temptation, which is sin.
The modern Democrat is a new species of human, a new creation. The German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche described him as an 'Übermensch', a man above others, a man not constrained by the old morality of Jesus and Moses. He is a man who champions the 'transmutation of all values' (i.e. "Change you can believe in."). Nothing binds his conscience. The only principle by which he lives is will.
Such people present an active danger to society, especially to children. They bring scandal to the public square. Moral people have an obligation to condemn them publicly, in the most severe terms, as Jesus condemned, repeatedly, the Scribes and the Pharisees.
