Riverside-Brookfield (3-3, 3-0) at Fenton (3-3, 2-1)

Metro Suburban Conference

Game time: 7 p.m. today.

Earlier this year: R-B 27, Fenton 16.

Last week: R-B 28, Ridgewood 6; Fenton 21, Elmwood Park 18.

Outlook: The Bison get a second look at the odd, pass-happy A-11 offense of Riverside-Brookfield, which runs a deceptive formation where all 11 players (A-11) are possibly eligible receivers. The Bulldogs' Bill VandeMerkt threw for nearly 500 yards last week, and his 50 pass attempts matched his tosses in the first Fenton game. The Bison have reason to be optimistic despite the loss in the last meeting. They piled up 400 yards of offense and will have four starters who didn't play in that game - including center Benji Sciullo, tackle Francisco Ochoa and running back Tyrell McGee. The obvious goal is to control the ball and limit the number of possessions the Bulldogs have. Defensively, it's all hands on deck. Quarterbacks Ricky Prignano and Eric Justiniano will be in the secondary along with Tommy Garza and Carlos Gomez, the leaders back there. Despite 50 chances last time the Bison snared no interceptions. If they can pick off a couple in this one, they'll have a great chance to forge a tie atop the MSC standings.
