Grateful for Messiah's pastors

When I was growing up, I thought wow, what an easy job, all you have to do is stand up and preach for an hour, marry people and say a prayer when someone passes away.

Wow, was I ever wrong.

Our pastors at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda are constantly busy. They help counsel people, they visit nursing homes, they help families talk to their child's teachers and principal and doctors, they visit people in the hospital, they visit people who are ill at their homes, and bring communion to them. I am sure there is a lot more they do that I just don't know about.

They have a youth minister who helps the kids learn about Jesus and God and also helps adults. They help with spiritual guidance which everyone needs now and then.

They have helped me in a time of need and I think they deserve to know how very grateful I am and how proud I am to be a member of such love, caring and kind church.

Now I believe they have the toughest job imaginable. So I take back that first thought that your job was easy, it is a job that is extremely difficult and not everyone can do it. It takes someone special.

My love to my pastors!
