Lisle police are hunting for a man who robbed a TCF bank Tuesday afternoon inside a Jewel grocery store at 1156 Maple Ave.

Police said the man displayed a handgun tucked in his belt and handed the teller a note demanding money about 5:30 p.m. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect may have fled in a silver or gray 4-door Cadillac with a black or dark trunk. Police did not know which direction he headed.

Police said the suspect was in his 50s, standing about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hat, brown jacket and yellow shirt with a checkered pattern.

Authorities believe the same man may be responsible for bank heists in Glen Ellyn and Countryside.

Anyone with information is urged to call Lisle police at (630) 271-4200.
