"Pets-a-Palooza" is free and fun for the entire family, including pets. There will be pet-themed contests, animal demonstrations, a pet parade, giveaways, sale of pet-related items, adoptions, and much more.

Event organizers are especially excited about the variety of activities offered at the event. Activities range from dog trick shows and demonstrations to education, presentations and contests. A multitude of vendors will be on hand with generous giveaway items for attendees. There will also be a wide assortment food available to individuals who are present on Sept. 20. Part of the fun is the pet parade, which the public can register for in advance at www.andersonanimalshelter.org or on-site the day of the event.

"We are extremely excited to be offering such a fun event to the community," said Beth Drake, executive director. "A tremendous amount of hard work has gone into the planning of Pets-a-Palooza, and I think that everyone who attends will have a great time."

Staff made certain during the planning process that the event was inclusive of handicapped individuals. The parade route, in particular, was designed to be wheelchair accessible.
