Geneva History Center to host portrayal of women's rights pioneers
The Geneva History Center will be kicking off Women's History Month with a dramatic portrayal of Suffragists Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3. Lynn Rymarz and Jeanmarie Dwyer-Wrigley will portray the iconic duo in a performance titled, "Tea with Susan B. and Elizabeth C."
Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton are known today as pioneers for women's rights in the United States, beginning with the Seneca Falls Conference in 1848. Fueled by their passion for equal rights, Anthony and Stanton become lifelong friends. Their friendship was to last for 50 years. Audience members will be invited to step back in time and accept an invitation to a tea party hosted by these two great American women. Over the course of the evening, Anthony and Stanton will share their joys, struggles, hopes, disappointments and dreams as they worked side by side for women's rights.
