Drew Peterson sued by third wife's family

The family of the third wife of former Bolingbrook police officer Drew Peterson has filed a wrongful death lawsuit that alleges Peterson killed her.

The lawsuit filed Tuesday in Will County by the family of Kathleen Savio has been expected, particularly after an appellate court ruled against Peterson this year in his battle over Savio's estate.

Authorities have named Peterson as a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, but not in Savio's 2004 death.

Savio's death, originally classified as accidental, was later ruled a homicide.

Peterson has denied any involvement in Savio's death or in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson. His attorney Joel Brodsky says all the lawsuit does is hurt Peterson's children.
