District 214 snags prestigious Baldrige Award
Northwest Suburban High School District 214 is among the winners of the 2010 Illinois Baldrige Quality Award, given annually by the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence to organizations that contribute contributing to the economic development and ethical competitiveness in Illinois.
District 214 was among eight Illinois organizations to receive a Bronze Award for “Commitment to Excellence,” for “their earnest efforts to adopt and apply continuous improvement principles,” a news release stated.
District representatives will be honored on Jan. 13 at the annual Saluting Excellence award ceremony at Tellabs in Naperville.
“All of this year's recipients are exceptional examples of organizations understanding the impact and benefit that comes from a dedicated journey to performance excellence,” the release said. “They positively affect the impact the economic growth in the state of Illinois using the aligned Baldrige framework as their business model.”
This year's Gold Award winner is Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Silver Award winners are Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Illinois Central College in East Peoria, Memorial Health System of Springfield and St. Mary's Good Samaritan Inc. in Centralia and Mount Vernon.
The other Bronze Award winners are: the City of Collinsville, IL; Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Inc. in Springfield; Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, in Silvis, IL; North Palos District 117 in Palos Hills; Quest Diagnostics, Chicago Business Unit, in Chicago; United Cerebral Palsy Land of Lincoln in Springfield and Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
