Mount Prospect Historical Society honors veterans

In a tribute to veterans, the Mount Prospect Historical Society will discuss Mount Prospect's role in various conflicts and look at life both at home and on the war front in the next installment of its “Mount Prospect Stories” at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at the village hall Community Room, 50 S. Emerson St.

“Our area has connections to wars and conflicts going as far back as the Revolutionary War,” said Greg Peerbolte, executive director.

Peerbolte will be joined by six co-presenters from the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 311, an organization made up of residents of the Northwest suburbs and Northwest side of Chicago whose membership numbers more than 100. “Their stories are an important part of the history of our community,” he said.

The event is free. For information, call (847) 392-9006.
