Free skating, sledding in Mundelein

The Mundelein Park District offers free sledding and ice skating. The lighted sled hill at Keith Mione Community Park on Midlothian Road is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily with three inches of snow. Nonmetal sleds, tubes and saucers are permitted.

Snowboards, skis and building jumps are not allowed. Sledding also is available at the Diamond Lake Sports Complex. Signs are posted if the area is closed.
