Fire leaves Woodridge home uninhabitable

A Sunday evening house fire in Woodridge left a two-story home uninhabitable, according to fire officials.

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District received a 911 call at 6:15 p.m. Sunday from a neighborhood resident reporting a fire at their home on the 400 block of Boundary Hill Drive, according to fire officials.

The first crews were on the scene within three minutes and reported heavy smoke and fire visible near the home's attached garage, according to fire officials.

No occupants were in the home at the time of the fire, and no firefighters were injured during the blaze, according to fire officials.

Crews had the fire under control about 15 minutes after arriving on the scene, but the building was determined to be uninhabitable.

Fire officials said the residents are being helped out by family members who are assisting with lodging.

Members of the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District were assisted by crews from Downers Grove, the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District and the Bolingbrook Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
