Woodridge cops seeking armed robbery suspects

Woodridge Police are searching for suspects wanted for an armed robbery Tuesday evening.

Sgt. Tom Stefanson of the Woodridge Police Department said a group of males approached the male victim in the 7200 block of Woodridge Road at about 7:10 p.m. Tuesday and demanded his wallet.

Stefanson said one of the males displayed an unknown handgun before stealing the man's wallet, keys and cell phone.

After taking the items, one of the men hit the victim in the back with an unknown weapon.

“We don't know what type of weapon it was, except that it wasn't the gun,” he said. “The victim was not injured, though. He was treated at the scene and released.”

Police said it remains unclear the number of males involved in the robbery.

He said police are still investigating the crime, and anyone with any information should contact police at (630) 719-4740.
