Woman airlifted after I-88 rollover near Kaneville
A passenger was airlifted from the scene of a rollover crash on the Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway near Kaneville early Sunday morning and treated for minor injuries, police said.
Illinois State Police officials said Francis Wasonga, 24, of DeKalb was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe when a 20-year-old passenger grabbed the steering wheel during an argument, causing the vehicle to rollover about 2:40 a.m.
Police said the woman, a Poplar Grove resident, was entrapped for about 20 minutes before being flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
The highway was shut down while crews worked to extract the woman from the vehicle, police said.
The woman was treated for nonlife -threatening injuries.
Police said possible DUI charges against the driver are pending.
